Art Nouveau silver tazza
£495.00Price
London 1907 - Mappin & Webb
The desire for a handcrafted appearance had been borne out of the Arts and Crafts movement of the mid 19th century, so when Art Nouveau came a long a few decades later the finishes and techniques perfectly translated to the new shapes and forms of the Art Nouveau.
Here a hand planished finish is paired with organic and sinuous legs terminating in a domed base. This creates the classic tripod form that charctierises many Art Nouveau shapes.
Mappin and Webb remain leading designers and silversmiths and dating from 1907 this piece is a perfect example of their skills
Condtion: Excellent condtion, slight lean to oneside.
